INDE 6370 Homework #4 Due 8 MAR 10 The objective of this assignment is to introduce you to model building with ARENA. All work is to be completed individually. Make sure that you replace the default analyst name with your own name. Use the project element to do this. There will be an automatic 1 point penalty if you fail to do so. Model and animate a simple one queue one server system which represents a customer service center. The center operates for 12 hours a day. Customers arrive in the system exponentially distributed with a mean of 4.5 minutes. There is nobody waiting outside when the system opens. It takes 15 seconds to walk from the front door to the queue. The service time is normally distributed with a mean of 5 minutes and a standard deviation of 1 minute. It takes 15 seconds to walk from the service desk to the exit door. Model the above system using proper model translation practices.

Include a clock, a display that shows the time average number in queue, a level for average utilization, and a plot for the average system time. Submit an executive summary of the assignment including statistical results of the one replication, screen captures of your model, experiment, and animation and your model and experiment source code (look under the ARENA menu system to do this), and a copy of the output summary text file. Use a pressboard prong binder with a label on the outside with your name, course number, homework assignment number, and due date. Inside also include a cover sheet with your name, course name, assignment number, and due date. Include a soft copy of your doe model and word document on a CD or USB drive in a plastic pencil pouch....
