The truth of the statement “You are beautiful and I love you” is determined by the truth or falsity of the statement “You are beautiful” and the statement “I love you.” If “you are beautiful” is false or “I love you” is false, then “You are beautiful and I love you” is false. Five Types of Truth Functional Relations Negation : If a proposition is true, its negation is false. Conjunction : A conjunction is true if and only if both of its component propositions ( conjuncts ) are true. Disjunction : A disjunction is true unless both of its component propositions ( disjuncts ) are false. Material conditionality
