Christine Fung Social Studies 11 Canada is known throughout the world to be a multicultural country that supports freedom, rights and tolerance. By residing and being a Canadian citizen, we’re able to participate in several rights and freedom that may not be available in other countries. Our daily routines and actions are proof to the freedom we’re allowed to enjoy. One example of the freedom many citizens actively participate in is religious freedom. We are free to practice the religion in which we choose for ourselves without objections or intrusion from the government. In public, we’re able to wear whatever religious symbol we choose, discuss the religion or practice the religion. Although we still face discrimination or many sorts in Canada, an individual is free to wear a hijab, a cross and so on.
