TA 2014 22/02/2010 11:16:00 Act 1 ends with the pistols. Suspense increases through out, there is a mini climax at the end of each act. Act 2  starts out with Hedda playing with the pistols, and shoots at Judge Brock as  he comes.  Pistols are a symbol of power Judge Brock is highly flirtatious. o He is the confidant Hedda married George because she was bored of being single.  Loveborg says the book is about the truth and the future, george says he  never would have though about that, Hedda says that;s a surprise o loveborg breaks the rules, Hedda loves/hates it about him Hedda and Loveborg  o talked very privately.  o friendship ended because she thought she was being smothered, she  felt the relationship was being to intimate.  o She threatens to shoot him. because she is afraid of a scandal Thea o their happy  o She has a meaningful, equal relationship with loevborg
