Description of the Equipment The equipment consists of a quadrant assembled on the arm of a scale that swings around an axis. When the quadrant is introduced in the tank of water, the force that acts on the front surface, flat and rectangular, will exert a moment about the supporting axis. The swinging arm has a pan and an adjustable counterbalance. The tank has adjustable supporting legs that determine its proper level. It also has a drainage valve. The level of water in the tank is indicated by a graduated scale.
