Wounded Knee HW 1. On Walker Lake, he and other Indians saw Christ appear and the Indians made a big fire to throw light on him. They realized that Jesus looked like an Indian not a white man like the others originally thought. 2. They knew that it was the Messiah because it was foreordained. He also had the scars of crucifixion and spoke the scripture. 3. The foreordained Messiah said that God made the earth, and then sent the Christ to earth to teach the people, but white people treated him badly, left scars on him and he had to go back to heaven. Now that he returned to earth though, he was going to renew everything as it used to be and make it better. 4. The Ghost Dance and actually dancing it was the key to being swept up into heaven and being with your past ancestors in the new earth, where only Indians lived. 5. I think that this religion spread so rapidly because the origin of this religion was in the west
