Lecture 1: Intro (Psychopath) 2/20/10 12:50 PM Monday 1/27 -NO FINAL “Living” Choices o culture plays a part in how people perceive experiences o time and decades are cultures o color perception is psychological, but color description is cultural Antisocial Personality Disorder (sociopaths, psychopaths) o mostly men, but increase in women o increased testosterone o lack of conscience for wrongdoing, even towards friends and family o like DEXTER o reduced frontal lobe activities in serial killers (impulse control, sense of remorse) o grandparents (older people have deteriorated frontal lobes) Sociopathic behavior o one event can lead to violence o homicidal impulse from really small events o dissociative: running narrative stops during violence (almost like blackout) o 4% antisocial personality disorder (1 in 25 people)
