Ryan Baker 010009900 MW-2:00 Wachter 1) As the store manager for a McDonald's near your campus, answer the  questions posed. 1. Who are your five nearest direct competitors? Burger King, Backyard Burger, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, Abner’s Who are your indirect competitors? Subway, Lenny’s, Newk’s, Boefields, Papa Johns, Domino’s Is their business growing, steady, or declining? Declining. Competition in the food business in Oxford is very strong. With many non- chain restaurants and Deli style food readily available, the fast food industry is not fairing well in oxford. Health conscious consumers and a need for non-fast food make consumers in Oxford hesitant when choosing McDonalds. What can you learn from their operations or advertising? A stronger focus on original meals and a more health conscious menu by these competitors is a clear reason as to why they are keeping the corporate food market down in Oxford. With a more decentralized menu and healthy choices McDonalds
