THE NOBLE FEAT OF NIKE 2 Abstract In “The Noble Feat of Nike” (2003), Norberg mainly speaks about two controversial subjects, capitalism vs. communism. In his article, Norberg argues that capitalism pulls the poor out of poverty. He takes Nike, the multinational shoe factory, as a symbol of capitalism and globalization and compares it with other communist public sectors. The author discusses his viewpoint about this symbol of globalization which, just like McDonald’s or Pepsi, extended worldwide. Overall, his article is a call for communists to accept the fact that “ruthless multinational capitalists” improve people’s lives.
