Everything You Wanted To Know, But Were Afraid to Ask - BUS101 Introduction to Business – Second Edition ISBN: 0077379926 (This is a custom text available New and Used from the Bryant Bookstore or from students who took the course WITH ME last semester. This is the second edition text and has a green cover – this is the same text book that was used last semester) Course materials, announcements and PowerPoint slides will be posted on Blackboard. Quizzes and Exams via Respondus LockDown Browser Your quizzes and exams MAY be presented to you electronically via Respondus Lockdown Browser (my choice, not yours). If I decide that quizzes and exams will be administered electronically, then you MUST bring your laptop to that class session. You may receive a combination of several quiz / test / exam formats at the discretion my discretion throughout the semester. Course Description BUS101 is your first business course at Bryant University and subsequently covers all of the major topics that business’ face daily. This introduction to the world of business emphasizes the interrelationships of human, physical, and financial resources and their effects on organizational dynamics. The course is built around the successful creation of a business plan that will be presented by you and your team to your fellow students as well as outside business professionals. Course Format This course will include a variety of instructional approaches including class discussion, small group discussions and exercises, student presentations and guest speakers. Course Objectives Learning that business can be interesting! Students are expected to acquire a broad knowledge of business and not-for-profit organizations, their operations, the various functional disciplines involved, and an understanding of current issues reported in the business press.
