Purpose:  The purpose of this lab is to test substances and to determine the physical and chemical properties of substances. This will be accomplished by observing the color, odor, effect of heat, cold water, hot water, litmus test, dilute HCl and dilute NaOH for each of the substances. Initially we will look at physical properties and then through a series of different experiment we will observe the substance with added stimulus. This is important because it is very common for a matter as thoroughly as possible. In doing so he would observe both the physical and chemical properties of a substance. p Procedure:  P Start the lab by reading all the applicable lab material. Create a safe work area clear of debris and clutter. Use proper safety equipment safety equipment during the lab including goggles. Collect a necessary lab equipment including; 4-well Plate, Goggles, 100 mL Beaker, Burner fuel, Test tube cleaning brush, 4 Test tubes, 96-well Plate, Blue and red litmus paper, Mg (magnesium) metal, Cu (copper) metal, Mossy Zn (zinc), MgO (magnesium oxide), CuCO 3 (copper (II) carbonate), Cu (NO 3 ) 2 (copper(II) nitrate), and NaCl (sodium chloride). Procedure: We will be observing some chemical properties and physical properties of the elements and compounds contained in the experiment bag. You should work neatly on a separate sheet of paper and transfer data to table on pg 56 to be handed in. I will test several elements and compounds then observe the color, odor, effect of heat, cold water, hot water, litmus test, dilute HCl and dilute NaOH for each of the substances in the experiment bag and record results. Start by filling one well of 24-well plate with HCl halfway and put in labeled pipet. Fill another well with 6 M NaOH and
