Part 1: Data and Analysis: Data table 1: Diffusion of a liquid in a liquid observations Time (min) Observations Before The water is clear 0 The dye is only on the top where it was dropped; no dye on the bottom 5 The dye spread out on the bottom; strips of dye between top and bottom of the water 10 Mixed, no strips; dye is more concentrated on the bottom (dye sunk) 15 Generally mixed; more dye on the bottom 20 Bottom contains most of the dye; bottom is very red (with dye) Questions: 1. What difference would you have seen of you had set up the beaker in the refrigerator? In the first 5 minutes of observation, the dye was mixing somewhat evenly with the water. However, after some time, the dye slowly separated itself from the water by sinking and concentrating itself on the bottom of the beaker.
