1.What he means by this is that CO2 was basically increasing the effects of warming up, because the more CO2 there is the warmer it would get, but before all this CO2 only increased after the temperature increased. So the higher the temperature the higher amounts of CO2, but bow referring back to what Hansen said, today the CO2 is driving the temperature, the CO2 trapped in the atmosphere traps the suns radiation within the earth’s atmosphere so it does not really get a chance to cool off as much as it would with half the CO2. 2.The reason why this manner of measuring the temperature of the earth over the past certain amount of years has ended in 1950 was mainly because they find that it is not a valid area to get information on the past climates. Because the rings could actually be delayed from the climate, and there are other better ways of measuring the climate from the past. 3. The reason for this is because the CO2 levels do not go up in ratio to the temperatures. And the increase in temperatures can be different for different areas of the globe. For example it can go up by 10 degrees in Australia but in Greenland the temperature could have actually gotten colder. One other reason could be because the CO2 does not have a direct relationship
