He believes that one must possess the sociological imagination, a skill that is beyond information, to reason and develop an understanding of the changes in the world and the changes in themselves. o Oftentimes, one cannot comprehend fully of what’s going on with (or changes within) oneself, either behavior-wise or action-wise, if one does not understand what is going on in the world, and vice versa. The reasons are that the shaping of the world changes the values of people and that the changes in one are directly related to the adjustments within a social structure or society. o One’s life is closely related to the changes in the history of the world and that people take part in making the history. Additionally, the word “troubles” should be distinguished with the word “issues” because they refer to two different ideas: o The word “troubles” refer to one’s own conflicts or personal problems in
