The Electrometer 1) The electrometer must be grounded! 2) Person operating electrometer must be grounded! 3) Select the 100V scale on the electrometer, d read the DVM voltage at the 20 V ||||||||||||||||||||||| and read the DVM voltage at the 20 V scale. 4) The signal input is a coaxial cable, with the center conductor being the input, and the BASIC ELECTROMETER outer conductor connected to instrument ground. 5) Pressing the zero button will short the input ground; e g the inner and outer SIGNAL INPUT ROUND SIGNAL OUTPUT to ground; e.g. the inner and outer conductors are momentarily connected. This will discharge the Faraday pail. ZERO VOLTS FULL SCALE 3 10 30 100 GROUND INSTRUMENT GROUND: Aluminum plate or water To DVM: Red positive Black negative pipe The Aluminum plate must be grounded to the water pipes if used!!! (page 2)
