158-M4 Projectile Motion Manual Addendum V: Experimental Procedure V-1: Proceed as directed in the manual, but when finding point F, use the carpet remnant (the piece of carpet with the notch cut to fit the upright blue board) and the upright blue board at the point where the ball is landing. A precise value for F is not required, but your upright blue board must be between points F and B. Please use the carpet remnant at all times during this experiment. See picture 1. Picture 1: Proper placement of the carpet remnant. V-2: Use the plumb line to indicate point B. Each measurement of D will be from B to the bottom of the upright blue board. Affix the sensing paper to the front of the upright blue board. This paper has two layers, a white layer and a yellow layer. The white layer should be on top, facing the incoming ball. After the paper has been affixed to the board, draw a line at height H across the paper. The easiest way to do this is to bring the vertical blue board right up to the end of the launching track and hold the ball at the end of the track in contact with the sensing paper. See picture 1 in this addendum. Any pressure
