WaterResource Plan
The water resource issue I selected was point source pollution-water pollution. Water
pollution originated from the birth of human civilization. Human waste was the first
pollutant that contributed to how the water system is today. In time human waste has
sought its way through to bodies of water all over the world. Many pollutants that have
made their way into the earth’s water include oil, garbage, sewage, debris, fertilizers,
and chemicals. The different sources of water pollution are; industry, agriculture, and
homes (vickiilene, Lovetoknow Corp., 2006-2010).
Personally, I believe that a sustainment plan that would help to alleviate the water
pollution problem will take years to implement, using extreme educational efforts and
costs. In my efforts to create a sustainment plan that would alleviate water pollution, I
created one that involves many steps. Primarily, the world needs to be educated about
water pollution and the effects it has already caused to our water resource. Water
pollution effects can include the spread of disease, affects to bodily organs, flooding,
harm to animals that live in the water, causes algae to form in the water, and interrupts
the food chain (vickiilene, Lovetoknow Corp., 2006-2010).
