Students use selected human responses with an emphasis on physiological and psychological/cultural/spiritual assessment to identify and evaluate therapeutic interventions for adult patients. The course highlights the nurses role in managing patient care in acute care settings. Prerequisites N230, 240, 250, 231, 241, 251, 210, 211, 212 Corequisites N340 and N350 Course Objectives At the completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Integrate concepts for biophysical and behavioral sciences applicable to health problems identified in acutely ill adults. 2. Apply the steps of the nursing process to develop comprehensive plans of care for adults of diverse backgrounds with multisystem acute and chronic health care problems. 3. Analyze the role of the professional nurse in relation to promoting patient self-determination and education. 4. Analyze the relationship of the professional nurse as a collaborator and consumer of research to health promotion, symptom management, and adaptation during transitional health care of an acutely ill patient....
