3/1/10 3- layered embryo- outer ectoderm - Inner endoderm (archenteron= first gut) - Middle mesoderm – surrounds coelem – pseudocoelem when partially surrounded by mesoderm Beginnings of notochord and nervous system From these all adult structures form Ecto : epidermis and derivatives – hairs, feathers, etc. - Ns including brain and neural crest cells and derivatives - NCCs leave the neural tube and migrate – PNS (sensory) etc. - Lining of mouth and anus - Sensory macodes – gives rise to ectodermal portion of sense organs Endoderm- archenteron – gut lining - Gut derivatives- lungs, liver, swim bladder, gall bladder On each side of notochord Mesoderm differentiates into tissue blocks called somites which divide into - Dermatome: dorsal dermis - Myotome: skeletal muscle - Scleratome: vertebral column Intermediate mesoderm (nephric ridge) Nephric structures (kidney) Reproductive tubules Lateral plate mesoderm Somatic meso. – near outer body wall - Ventral dermis -parietal peritoneum -parts of skeleton
