Mehmet Bayram Per 2 Mrs. Maggio Influenza It has been a couple of days since I came from the doctors. He said I had  the flu, or the influenza virus. I shook when he said about 36,000 people die from  it each year. To do some further research, I used the internet to help me learn  about the virus.  I remember going to the library and using the computer. Right after that I  went to a fast food restaurant and ate food. I learned in High School that  keyboards are very dirty places, which is probably why I became sick. Influenza  viruses are very contagious; they affect the respiratory tract and are transmitted  by saliva from coughing. There are many kinds of them.

Unformatted text preview: Right now, I have a headache, fever and a sore throat. I learned that I will hopefully feel better in about 2-4 weeks, but in rare cases, I could have complications and acquire pneumonia. My doctor told me that I need to receive a lot of rest, drink plenty of liquids and avoid using alcohol and tobacco. He gave me a medication called acetaminophen to relieve the fever and muscle aches. He also told me not to take aspirins because it can lead to a disease of the livers called Reyes Syndrome. I will most likely have a complete recovery unless there are complications....
