Mehmet Bayram  APUSH 1  May 8, 2007 1) The answer is D. The North was more advanced than the South during the Civil War.  The primary advantage was the manufacturing capabilities. They had factories that could  produce weapons that were needed for the war. The South only had a few factories that  could manufacture the arms that were necessary. The South’s dependence on slavery  did not make it easier to industrialize. The North blockaded many ports to the South, not  allowing the necessary products to ship and fuel the War. The South was struggling to  put together their government and fight a war at the same time. The North had a ready  government with a well-trained army that was ready to fight.  http://www.socialstudieshelp.com/Lesson_35_Notes.htm 2) The answer is E.  Since the North had a superior navy, they blockaded the Southern  ports, not allowing the necessary products to arrive and fuel the War. If the North  controlled the Mississippi River, they would have easy access to trade and they would  be able to move troops around much easier & divide the South. They also had the  Border States, which were on the side of the North, but allowed slavery. The North

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
