Mehmet Bayram Federalist 1 12/19/06 I believe that our team, the Affirmative, won the debate on December 18 over the ratification of the United States Constitution. There are many reasons why I think the negative team lost, and one main reason is because they kept on repeating one thing over and over again. I think that our team won because of the strength of our speeches and the lack of detail in the opponent’s speech. I think that our team won the debate because we did everything we were supposed to do, and more. I was the first affirmative, Stephen was the second affirmative, Andrew did the cross examination and Mike did the rebuttal. They said the Articles of Confederation got us through the War for Independence. The reality is that Britain stopped fighting the United States because they understood that it would be more profitable to trade rather than fight with us. Even though each team had good arguments, I think the affirmative won because of the deficiency of detail the negative team gave.
