APPLICATION OF A GRAND THEORY2King’s Theory of Goal Attainment vs. Newman’s Theory of HealthKing’s Theory of Goal Attainment is attributed to theorist Imogene King. The theory describes an interpersonal relationship that is dynamic in which people grow and develop to accomplish specific life goals. The interaction and relationship nurse- patient is not only understanding and completing tasks but is an everyday motivation to live a better quality oflife regardless of the illness. Interacting systems form the major concepts of the theory. The model comprises interacting systems; personal, interpersonal, and social. Nurses now a days are more focused on a holistic patient care, an overall well-being and safety of their patients. Each interacting system has its own set of concepts(Caceres, 2015). Concepts of the personal system include time, space, body image, growth and development, self, and perception.
