Fraser Parke Comm 1701, Section 05 Dr. Jill Manderson September 20 th , 2007 The Dalhousie Chronicle The Rise to the Top An inside view on TD’s use of communication within the workplace Dal’s Student Bulletin TD Canada Trust is a bank to more than fourteen million individuals and families (TD Bank Financial Group, 2007, para. 1). With only seven years of banking experience, they have already grown to be one of the most recognized banks in Canada. Some may say that their rapid growth was due to excellent management or dedicated employees. However, according to Margot Northey, author of Impact: A Guide to Business Communication, “the ability to communicate effectively is important in getting to the top in business” (Northey, 1998). TD Canada Trust employee, Tracy MacIntyre, is the Training Instructor for the Atlantic Canada Region. Every day she is involved in the education and training of Whether it’s emails, spreadsheets or flipcharts; she’s writing. (Scarborough Town Centre, 2007)
