Saejin YiTopinkaBio 400March 9, 2020Spectrophotometry Lab ReportAbstract:The results of this lab showed that the maximum absorbance of the standard blue dye was found to be 1.248 at 625nm. The wavelength was set at 625 nm and the absorbances of varying concentrations were measured under this wavelength. Solution 1 had a max absorbance of 0.033,solution 2 had max absorbance of 0.260, solution 3 had a max absorbance of 0.504, solution 4 had a max absorbance of 0.639, and lastly solution 5 had a max absorbance of 0.767. The unknown had a max absorbance of 0.430. This was a significant finding due to knowing where our unknown it we can narrow down what it can be due to knowing that the absorbance rate was in between solution 2 and 3. Introduction:Spectrophotometry is a method of measuring the light absorbance of a substance.
