Molly McMahon McMahon 1 Professor Swanson EN101-H3/Essay 1 Revision 2 November 2008 The Ultimate Get-away To most, it is just an ordinary barn with stalls, horses, a bad odor, and dust- mass amounts of dust. To me, however, it is much more than that. This is my place, my own world: where I go to escape the confusion of not only the world, but also life. Here, I can be me. I do not have to worry what others may think; animals are not quick to make judgments as people often are. It was a typical December morning- cool and crisp with a tinge of that winter bite. Yes, it was cold, but the tears streaming down my face felt like fire on my delicate skin. I hastily wrapped a scarf around my damp neck and went outside for a walk. After about ten minutes or so, I still felt awful, and remembering I had to teach a riding lesson at 4:00, I decided to leave a few hours earlier than the usual 2:30. I just needed to get out! I just needed to get away from my house so that I could relax. The farm is about an hour drive, so I figured that would be enough time to take my mind off of everything that had just happened. Unfortunately, the heat did not work in my last car, and neither did the defroster. As if that
