Nguyen 1 Long Nguyen Ms. Reynoso BOT 2800 October 3 rd , 2009 “Food Matters” Response We live in a world of developing health care systems, where the focus is on symptoms of disease rather than the causes of disease. This is a world where we are lead to a belief that there are pills for most of the diseases. Somehow, the use of nutrients as a healing process or preventative solution has gotten lost. Still, so many people in our world ignore the fact that our daily foods play an essential role in contributing nutrition for our bodies, and it is also the key factor causing many health problems if we have a poor eating habit. The phrase “you are what you eat” is strongly captivated in the Food Matter, and this concept closely relates to the Hippocrates’ theory which mentions about using our food as our medicine. The people behind Food Matters believe that Hippocrates truly made the foundation for caring for our bodies. As the film proceeds, there is discussion on influencing of raw foods, super foods, and junk foods. There is also discussion on vitamins, minerals, and nutritional supplements as treatment in
