1) The question my article seeks to answer is, why do male chimpanzees engage in meat  sharing behaviors with females? The hypothesis my article proposes is known as the meat-for- sex hypothesis which says that men and women exchange meat for mating access.  2) Though this article focuses primarily on chimpanzees, its introduction begins by making  comparisons to other hunter-gatherer societies which exhibit a correlation between hunting  success and extra marital success; therefore this question was derived from an inductive  approach.  3) The research for this study was collected on wild chimpanzees in the Tai National Park, Cote  d’Ivoire.  4) Meat sharing was observed and scored whenever meat was transferred from one individual  to another in an apparently voluntary fashion. Cases in which the male screamed, cried or  aggressed against the female were not recorded.  The transfers of meat could be either passive  (in which the male allowed a female to feed on the same piece of meat) or active (in which a  male tore a piece of meat and placed it in the hand of a female). Furthermore, to investigate  whether males shared more meat with estrous than anestrous females given their proportional  representation in hunting parties , they controlled the number of females of the reproductive  state of the female who received meat, present in the hunting party at the time of transfer. In
