Example: Jay got 90 for his homework, 100 for his presentation, 20 for the rst exam, 50 for the second exam, 70 for the third exam. If he got 80 for the nal exam, the nal grade he has is 90 * . 15 + 100 * . 05 + 20 * . 2 + 50 * . 2 + 70 * . 2 + 90 * . 2 = 64 . 5 Then his nal grade will be D or D + . However, if he tell me he want to replace his rst exam grade by the nal grade, he will have 90 * . 15 + 100 * . 05 + 90 * . 2 + 50 * . 2 + 70 * . 2 + 90 * . 2 = 78 . 5 Then his nal grade will be C + (instead of B-since the highest grade he can have is C + now).
