Chemistry 3A Syllabus (Jan 18, 2010 ) (January-May 2010) Professor : Jean Fréchet, Rapoport Chair of Organic Chemistry, 718 Latimer Hall Head Graduate Student Instructor (GSI): Allie Obermeyer (Ph.D. Candidate) Course Coordinator: Lucia Briggs Section 1: Tu/Th, 8:00-9:30 AM, 155 Dwinelle Section 2: Tu/Th, 2:00-3:30 PM, 1 Pimentel Both sections will cover the same material, however, you must attend the section you enrolled in. For enrolment problems please contact the course enrolment coordinator: Lucia Briggs luciab@berkeley.edu Concerning the laboratory Chem 3AL : please note that the Chem 3AL laboratory is a fully separate course . All questions concerning 3AL should be directed to the Instructor in charge of Chem 3AL (Professor S. Pedersen) or the appropriate 3AL GSI’s; do not contact Prof. Fréchet for matters related to the laboratory. A separate bspace web site is available for Chem 3AL. Chem 3A: background and attendance: Prerequisite: Chem 1A, Chem 4, or 5 on the Chem AP test Students are expected to attend all Lectures. They should attend GSI Office Hours for assistance with course material, technical questions or problems.
