(Simulation Problem) The goal is to compare the power spectral densities of two level PAM and CPM carrier modulated signals. Let h=0.5 and θ0 =0 for for CPM signal and assume bit rate of 100Mb/s and equal carrier amplitude for PAM and CPM. a) Generate a random bit sequence (with equal probabilities of 0 and 1) and use it to generate the PAM and CPM waveforms (1024 bits, for example). b) Find the phase of your signals and remove their carrier phase (2πfct). Plot the un‐wrapped phase of the first 20 bits of both signals on the same plot and compare them. (Hint: Un‐wrapped phase is not limited to 2π.) c) Using Fourier transform, compute the power spectrum of the two signals and plot them on the same graph. d) Plot the analytical PSDs given in P&S equations 3.4‐20 and 3.4‐61 and compare their 3dB bandwidth. ...
