Real Estate Exploring the World of Real Estate: Agents & Brokers More than five million people in the United States are employed in the real estate industry. Agents alone hold more than 330,000 jobs according to the US Department of Labor; and Brokers have more than 90,000 jobs. There are many more careers in this field including appraisers, building and contraction inspectors, real estate lawyers, property managers, loan officers and many more. Real Estate is a highly competitive field, and working as an assistant in a real estate office, I have saw first hand that being a real estate agent and broker can be a very satisfying career. I have further come to believe that in career a person has more room for advancement in this industry. I would like to study and get my real estate license, and eventually become a broker like my mother. I would like to keep her business alive that she worked so hard at making a successful real estate office. Real estate agents and brokers provide similar services in the real estate field.
