(12 points) You are starting your new internship working in a C. elegans laboratory and your advisor suggests you carry out a screen to find new loss-of-function (lof) mutations in the tra-1 gene to better define the important functional domains of the TRA-1 protein. Her idea is to mutagenize XX tra-1 (e1575/+) female worms (which lay unfertilized eggs due to the lack of sperm production) and cross them to XX tra-1 (e1099/e1099) males. She tells you the mutants of interest should be phenotypic male worms among F1 progeny. Being very astute, you point out to her that the screen might also find unlinked dominant mutations that give the same phenotype as the mutants of interest. (If you wish, you can show your work on the back of the page) A. Indicate the genotypes of all progeny from the cross (without mutagenesis) and circle the corresponding phenotype (female or hermaphrodite): XX tra-1 (e1575/+) x XX tra-1 (e1099/e1099) female
