Catherine Cox 830-25-0528 105 U.S. Launches Criminal Case In Mass Recall A criminal investigation into Peanut Corp. of American has been launched due to an FDA report alleging that the company shipped peanut products that had tested positive for salmonella. The company is claiming the FDA inspection report contained inaccuracies, but it didn’t describe them. I think this is very unacceptable that the company would ship a product that had been labeled “contained inaccuracies. Even if the company wasn’t away of the problem with their product is there responsibility to figure out what is wrong with the peanut butter. Although the company stopped production at the plant and recalled all products it was too late. More than 530 people had been infected with salmonella, a sickness that would have never occurred if the company and taken social responsibility in figuring out what the so-called “inaccuracies” in their products were.
