Gloria Descoteaux Professor Newell Theatre Appreciation May 1, 2009 The Importance of Being Ernest The last play our class attended this semester was The Importance of Being Ernest, which was a great play. On my own time, I have not seen many plays but The Importance of Being Ernest was definitely the best play I have ever seen. Compared to the other plays from earlier in the semester, those have no comparison. I loved every bit of this play and would recommend it to a friend to go and see. It was very clear the Trinity Repertory Company put much time and effort into making this production a huge success. Not only was their effort very obvious but so was their confidence making the production even more successful. The major assets to the production’s success were the actors’ performance, the props, and the aspect of theatre of the absurd used. The most important and outstanding asset of the production The Importance of Being Ernest were the amazing actors. Every actor in the play did his or her part and really contributed in making the play a successful
