Gastrulation -formation of the three germ layers—endoderm, mesoderm, ectoderm -going from blastospheres to identifiable cell types --cell differentiation --cell movement iPSCs --induced ploripotent stem cells --in development, genes that are no longer used are inactivated --cells can be used to look at the control in cells --a new organ can be made with proteins and hormones by activating cells -Sea Star (echinoderm) --invagination—cells in circular area move in creating blastopore --Archenteron Later…archenteron grows--ingression -Frog --starts at Dorsal lip of the blastopore --blastopore changes while ingression continues --Schematic c -Birds --almond shaped disc --primitive streak and primitive groove --Hensen’s Node—equivalent to the dorsal lip on blastopore in frog --ingression geometrically different from frogs --Hensen’s Node starts to move
