Guidelines for Student Lectures for PMI 127 Spring 2010 The talk should be no more than 20 minutes long. It should be well rehearsed and smooth. Nervousness will not count against you but poor preparation will. Each talk will be worth 20 points. It should be presented using the following progression; Identify the organism and give some of its most important basic features. (i.e. gram positive rod, spore former, obligate anaerobe, etc.) Describe the epidemiology of the organism, i.e. where it is found, who gets it, i.e. age, sex, etc. Identify the host target site and what defenses are in place to prevent infection.
