What are two uses of a VHD, in which a VHD offers an advantage over using a physical hard drive? In most cases, it is best to configure virtual machines to use virtual hard disks rather than physical hard disks. A virtual disk is a file or set of files that appears as a physical disk drive to a guest operating system. The files can be on the host machine or on a remote computer. When you configure a virtual machine with a virtual disk, you can install a new operating system onto the virtual disk without repartitioning a physical disk or rebooting the host. For most instances, using a virtual hard drive is better to configure the virtual machine on then a physical hard drive. The files for the virtual disk is a set of files that are stored as a physical disk drive to a guest operating system. Files for the host machine or a remote computer can be on the disk. Configuration of a virtual machine with a virtual disk can be installed with a new operating system on the virtual disk
