View Full DocumentThis lab is meant to be a basic introduction to the world of digital logic as well as logic
gates, Programmable Logic Devices, counters, and digital to analog conversion.
Digital logic
devices can be found in many different devices so it is crucial to obtain a good understanding of
the basic theory behind them.
In this lab we will come familiar with the Altera MAX 7000S
which is a complex programmable logic device.
We will also be getting some firsthand
experience with op amps.

Procedure
Step 1 – First, we must build a NOT, OR, and AND logic gate using only NAND gates.
In doing
this, we must use the 74LSOO for the NAND gates and a LED to observe the output.
Also, we must keep a record of how long this process takes.
Step 2 – We must estimate how many wire connections we will need for the NAND realization
of Figure 1 from our prelab assignment.
