NAME: (Anik) Sajidur Rahman Section:12 DATE: 3/23/10 Measuring Voltage and Current Using the Data Studio Voltage and Current Probe Objective: To understand how to use the voltage and current probe to measure voltage in series, in parallel, and to measure current in a simple circuit. Introduction: In this experiment you will learn to use the Data Studio voltage and current probes. You will measure battery voltages both in series and in parallel. You will also construct a simple circuit (battery, wire, and two light bulbs) and measure the current through the circuit for different battery voltages. Part 1: Turn on your lap top computers and attach the probe to the USB port. The application will pop up. What are the physical quantities that the probe is capable of measuring? Answers: Volts and Amperes Part 2: Observe the probes leads. The probes at the front end of the device are for measuring voltage. The maximum range for the device is +10V to -10V.
