Angiotensinogen Angiotensin I . AngiotensinI Angiotensin II (Angiotensin) - kidney (low rate) and in lungs (high rate). Angiotensin increases blood pressure through vasoconstriction, conserves body water through synthesis and secretion Adlosterone by ZonaGlomerulosa of the adrenal cortex of Aldosterone . Aldosterone acts on to increase Na reabsorption with water following. Conserves circulating plasma volume. Erythropoietin – stimulates synthesis of red blood cells by the bone marrow. Calciferol ( active Vit D) converts inactive Vit D to active Vit D. Active Vit D stimulates reabsorption of Ca and PO4 by proximal tubule cells .

Filtration - Filtration apparatus includes capillary network - glomerulus capsular head of the nephron - Bowman’s Capsule that encapsulates, cups, the glomerulus. unique arrangement of the endothelial cells of the glomerular capillaries and Bowman’s Capsule, the respective basement membranes, and other cells that restrict what is filtered and unclog the filtration apparatus and remove molecules that are not filtered – see Fig. 2-4 & p.22, Ultrastructure of the Renal Corpuscle. 2.
