Topic: Discuss at least three religions Our world is made up of billions and billions of people and each of us are unique in our own way. With respect to the number of people that exists, the number of religions we have are surprisingly few. What is it about religion that can amalgamate the minds and hearts of millions and create rich, unique cultures? And why is it so powerful that it incites men to start wars, rebel, and even cause the complete overthrow of governments? Here we will briefly look at Buddhism, Confucianism, and Islam and the role it plays in the lives of its followers. Buddhism originated in North India and was founded by Siddhartha Gautama sometime in the 6 th and 4 th century. A fundamental belief in Buddhism is the idea of reincarnation, or the belief that people are reborn after dying in a cycle of death/rebirth. When the body dies, all mental activities ends as well and thus there is no soul. Instead, they believe that an entity moves from one life to another much like how a flame is passed between each candle stick. The ultimate
