The operators are: “Union”: U -Combining the elements of two sets (without repeats) “Intersection”: -The elements that 2 sets have in common. “Complement”: -The elements that are missing from the set (that exist in the Universal). “Relative Complement” − A−B would be the elements that are in A, but not in B Cartesian Product” X The ordered pairs obtained by pairing up elements of 2 sets. Given a set, determine the number of different subsets that can be formed: 2n Given a word problem, be able to use Venn diagrams to find a solution Ex: For a survey of a 100 students, n(U)=100 It was found that: 35 took Astronomy (=A) 40 took Biology (=B) took Biology, but not Astronomy a. How many students took both of these classes? n(A∩B)= 40-12=28 b.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
