Goals: The two goals of this lab were to investigate the behavior of RLC circuits as well as becoming more familiar with the characteristics of a resonance wave. Procedure: The procedure for lab 18 can be found in the Physics II summer COOP lab manual. Pages 30-37.

Explanation of Uncertainties: The uncertainties for R and L were given as 10%, the uncertainty for C was given as 10. The uncertainty for RL was the two 10 percents added together given a total uncertainty of 20%. The uncertainty was given as 0.1 for f because on the oscilloscope we were able to read out to the tenths place for our values. For t 1/2 the uncertainty was 0.5 because we were able to read out to the tenths place but the placement of the curser was difficult thus we gave a little more uncertainty, reading error and value error. Wo’s uncertainty was calculated using the high low method. Theta’s uncertainty was 20% of the value. Sample calculations:
