1. Lutz tells us about “weasel words,” words or phrases such as: like, can be, help,  virtually, new, improved, acts, works. All these words, when used in advertisements,  actually have no meaning or do not have the meaning that those words are being used  as. (i.e. new or improved actually only meaning a change in the product even if it’s just  adding a new scent to it or changing the color.) Advertisers use these words in their ads  frequently because people to trust the product really is what they are guided to think  those words mean. 2.
