Interview profile 2 The interviewee is a single, 27 year-old Caucasian female named Amanda Hall. She has never been married, nor has she ever had children. Amanda lives with her sister and currently works in a factory. She is in the midst of completing the requirements for her GED in hopes of excelling more in life including the profession of childcare and development. In this paper, Amanda’s profile information in several areas will be disclosed. The areas being evaluated include memory, learning, intelligence, cognition and problem-solving, motivation, gender and cultural effects on emotions, and personality. Memory, learning, and intelligence Memory Amanda is a woman who likes a daily routine. She remembers information most often that is parts of her routine. She knows what daily goals need accomplishment, therefore, remembers that information most effectively. Amanda has a strong interest in music so she remembers words to countless songs. By using the rote rehearsal method, Amanda can use repetitive listening and singing to memorize the music she desires. Rote rehearsal is retaining of information by practicing memorization over and over (Morris and Maisto, 2005). Although Amanda enjoys listening to music and pays most attention to her musical passion, musical lyrics are not the only items that she can memorize. Active participation and repetitive memorization aid Amanda in remembering information for long-term and short-term memory. Monitoring someone else or reading is not a way of remembering information in Amanda’s case. Amanda believes that information generally remains in her long-term memory if the material is of importance, beneficial, or carries consequences. When remembering information

Interview profile 3 Amanda believes that previous positive or negative effects have made it possible for her to remember or forget information. Positive experiences such as time with her friends and family are objects worthy of being in Amanda’s long-term memory. Negative experiences such as her relationship with her father are also vivid long-term memories for Amanda as well. Information such as birthdays, appointments, and needs of the home are what Amanda considers to be items in her short-term memory. Once the task has been accomplished Amanda does not feel the need to remember the information anymore. Learning Learning for Amanda is dependent on her interest in the subject. If she has interest in the topic that she has sought to learn, Amanda will take more pride in the learning process. If the topic is not of interest to Amanda, she will not be as open-minded to learning what she is presented with. The task of learning a new way of doing things is not hard for Amanda to adjust
