Luke Wyatt LED And Photodiode 23/11/07 LED and Photodiode Risk Assessment 1. Electrical Investigate the intensity of the LED as a function of distance The value of each of the two resistors is 1000Ω but as they are in parallel = = + = + = 500 500 1 1000 1 1000 1 1 1 1 2 1 T T R R R R Below is the circuit diagram for the detection of light output from an LED The Frequency of the signal generator was set at 3kHz and the peak to peak voltage 20V. Below shows the waveform at point B (voltage across 1 R ), of the red LED. 1 of 5

Luke Wyatt LED And Photodiode 23/11/07 Below is the values of the current for each of the LED’s Current through red LED = 8mA Current through infra-red LED = -8.25mA Current through yellow LED = 7.75mA Using Ohms law on this diode gives the current through the LED because the LED and resistor are connected in series. Below are the estimated distances between each LED and the photodiode cap end Distance= Red =25mm Yellow =25mm Infra-red =35mm

What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
