Instructions for Recording an Absorbance Spectrum using the MeasureNet Spectrometer 1. Be sure the spectrometer is turned ON before you set-up your workstation. Press On/Off switch to turn on the power to the MeasureNet Station 2. Press Main Menu , then press F5 Spectroscopy , then press F2 Absorbance . 3. Press SetUp to establish san parameters for the experiment. Press F1 to scan the limits. Use arrow keys to move from min to max or from X to Y . An * marks the parameter selected to change at any given time. Absorbance data is recorded on the Y axis, so set max intensity to 2.0, then press Enter . Leave the min intensity as 0.0, then press Enter . The wavelength, in nm, is recorded on the X axis. Leave the min and max wavelengths as the default values (200 nm min and 850 nm max for a UV-Visible source, or 350 nm min and 1100 nm max for a Visible source). Press Display to accept all values. The workstation is ready to record an absorbance spectrum. 4.
