Throughout the documentary regarding drug addiction and disease, it was very evident how strenuous life can be if one was very sick and unhealthy. In one of the scenes, a Russian contracted the HIV virus through the use of heroin. Her life became very problematic, and resulted in her having to give up her child to her mother. Her living situation was tragic—having to live in the slums and relying on medication to get her through the day.

She is very troubled due to her disease and does not partake in normal, daily activities. Because she doesn’t partake in normal, healthy activities, she does not interact with other people, as she should. This inadvertently affects her thoughts and behavior, making her more isolated from society....
