Your thyroid is a butterfly- shaped gland located at the base of your neck just below your Adam's apple. hypercalcemia- is a condition in which the calcium level in your blood is above normal. hyperthyroidism- is when your thyroid -- the butterfly-shaped gland at the bottom of your neck, just above your collarbone -- makes too much of a hormone called thyroxine.
